Destilado de Agave para Emergencias

Created in partnership with Reid's Distillery during a tequila shortage in July 2024, this 100% distillate of agave serves as the basis for all of Civil Pours' Margaritas. Available for a limited time while supplies last, this is your chance to own and enjoy a piece of Civil Pours history!

Our distillate of agave is made from 100% Agave Espadin. This beautiful plant is broadly cultivated and farmed, and is one of the most sustainable agaves available for spirit production. Its sustainable nature, along with an excellent and versatile flavour profile that's similar to tequila, is why we have chosen it as the base of our agave cocktails. The growing popularity of tequila, a blue agave-based spirit, has implications of over-harvesting and loss of bio diversity, which impelled us to look in this new direction. 

With an unexpected shortage in front of us, we thought this would be a great educational opportunity to demonstrate the wonders of alternative agaves, while also providing support to our hospitality friends and community who were unable to get their hands on tequila. The overwhelmingly positive response and unpredictable duration of the shortage left us with some excess inventory that we'd now like to share. Made with 100%  agave that is cultivated and distilled in Mexico, it has been bottled by us to be enjoyed by you and yours!
